For this quality level of fragrances, they cost around $20-50 per ounce (a typical size is a 3.4oz for around $100 or so). So, yeah, no, you aren't getting a bunch of 1 oz bottles sadly. But you do get more perfume than you might expect out of a little tiny vial - about ~10-20 sprays out of each. A typical application for me is 2-4 sprays (any much more than that and your coworkers probably complain about you being over-fragranced behind your back). It's a nice way not just to get an idea of the scent, but actually wear it on a handful of occasions to really decide if you like it, if it lasts for you, etc. (In another thread someone was just saying to go to Kohls and use sampler bottles every day; since this would last probably at least 45 days it sounds like a rough way to save $15 D
I kinda like these samplers, especially when they're a brand I already know I like. This is a pretty nice variety (ie, not one or two good ones and then 16 junkers) but idk if I wanna find another $10 to get free shipping. I'm lazy
With trial bottles, I like that if I enjoy a scent I can buy the full size and just use the lil bottle as a travel bottle.
The "Old People Smell" Risk Assessment
Here are the only fragrances in the boxes that might feel slightly "mature" or dated, though none are terrible.
In the Women's Box:
- Donna Karan Cashmere Mist: ⚠️ Caution. This is the only one I would flag. It came out in the 90s and is a powdery musk scent. To a teenager or young adult, this might smell a bit like "Mom" or "clean laundry" rather than a fun perfume.
- Ralph Lauren Romance: This is a heavy floral (rose). It's very clean, but it lacks the sugar/vanilla that young girls usually want today. It's not "old," but it's very "classic."
