For BF, the entire range of carbon steel pans are on sale at De Buyer.

12" Fry pan for $108 (20% off) directly from De Buyer itself. France-made.

I'm getting rid of all my old non-stick pans. De Buyer seems to be very well-regarded and high-end. Have not seen any deals on them in general. The best line is the Mineral Pro B. Mineral (non-pro) seems to not be as recommended because the handles have a coated epoxy that cannot handle high oven heat as well. Finally, the Blue Carbon line, while cheaper, is thinner than the others.

I love when people say they're "throwing out X" kitchen equipment is a tool, like any other tool in the box everything, carbon, stainless, cast iron, nonstick, all have their place. Just learn how to use the tool properly
that being said spending the extra 80 over an American metalcraft pan is mostly for the look and carbon steel will discolor with use so understand what your getting.

nice way to make assumptions with your less than helpful comments. i am well aware and experienced in the kitchen. my nonstick pans are well-past their lifetime -- Calphalon Elite Williams Sonoma pans that are close to 10 yrs old -- and i figured i'd try my hand at carbon steel. i am familiar with seasoning cast iron (have seasoned lodge pans and restored passed down rusted pans too) and carbon steel (did so with a wok some years ago).
just sharing this deal on a well-regarded/reviewed brand that is rarely on sale...
