I bought this last November for the same price. It's a good laptop. the hinge broke last week and searching online it seems to be somewhat common. Probably worth the extended warranty unless you rarely open or close it. I put a glass screen saver on it and that improved the screen appearance. I also added more memory.

Only downside is that this is probably not an IPS screen - sadly, Asus makes it very difficult to find the screen specs.

All Vivobook 17s come with IPS panels as far as I can tell.

And the last 3 comments illustrate the problem...Asus makes it literally impossible to find the specs on the screen. There is no information on the Asus website or the Staples website on the screen and in the Q & A on the Staples website people have asked if the screen is IPS and there is no answer.

The fact that it doesn't say anything about the screen leads me to believe it probably is not IPS and Asus is trying to hide that information.
