I got these from the amazon resale deal last month. The noise cancelling is excellent on a jet. When you take the headphones off you realize how loud it is inside the cabin. Comfort isn't the best due to the shallow cups. You may find yourself adjusting them often. That's the only problem I have with them, but it's tolerable. So far so good with the hinges.

Personally no, I had warranty on mine and even with that they still broke again after exchange with no coverage after the first claim. So it's not a matter of if it will break, but a matter of when it will break/break again. Headset is absolutely amazing sound quality, but the hinge is the absolute Achilles heel to it. It would be better if with saving for XM6 that improved the hinge design or just going with XM4 which while slightly less sound quality (particularly with noise cancellation) I think the design just makes that trade off worth it. Also as someone else mentioned, they're rather uncomfortable due long use due to a thin band vs XM4. I use a pad cover on mine to make it more comfortable for longer.

This is true I've seen a lot of this. Also I've tried on both and I personally have the XM4s because they fit over my ears better

this ebay seller can claim to be a sony reseller but bottom line is sony only allows warranty access from a few official retailers.

Just got the XM6's for $260. But I keep hearing there's basically no difference besides the new hinge and foldable. Any thoughts on maybe getting these for $60 cheaper?

Used XM4s for 4 years before grabbing these open-box. Everything is excellent except the thinner band causes piercing pain after a few hours. I honestly thought I was having migraines. Back to my XM4s until I see a decent deal on XM6.
