I own 15 EcoFlow power stations with most being the River 3 Plus. I use them in place of a UPS for my electronics. A huge flaw in these devices is that they need to remain connected to Wi-Fi and internet while their firmware is upgrading but they turn off their AC power output before running the firmware update process. I had to add a regular UPS in between the River 3 Plus that is powering my networking equipment to keep it powered during firmware updates otherwise it would turn off AC power output, turn off networking equipment, and the firmware update process will fail and not complete because there's no Wi-Fi and internet. IMHO, it's a terrible flaw. Separately, some River 3 Plus devices have a defect...it turns off its AC output power after 24-48hrs. Ecoflow pushed new firmware that says it included fixes for the problem but it didn't work. The only remedy is to return the River 3 Plus and/or exchange for a new replacement. Becareful with refurbished River 3 Plus because if they're reselling these units, there is no fix. You might be working with tech support for weeks, installing different firmware, answering questions about when it turned off, how much current was being used, is solar charging connected and/or being used, etc... At the end of the day, no solar, 70w-100w continuous draw, X-boost disabled, timeout settings set to "never", and problem units still turn off their AC output ever 24-48hrs with nothing recorded in the fault log... Hopefully my reporting would have help save you some time. If you get a problem unit, just return and exchange. It's not your settings and or use.... it's simply a defective unit. A quick search for "River 3 Plus turns off AC output" will find that many others have also encountered this problem with River 3 Plus

This is a pretty sweet deal for a River 3 Plus without the extra battery banks. I bought the Costco bundle few months ago for $220. Reviews for this have said it comes in the original packaging and all cables are included.

Wanted a UPS, but seems like this might not be the best bet. Thanks for the info above.

Thank you for the info. I'm not so well-verse in UPS. Is what you described a critical issue for casual use / camping? I've been eyeing a River 3 Plus with solar panel options. Is 45w enough for my use? Refurb R3P+45W panels for $199 -- thoughts? TYVM.

Great deal. My last APC UPS battery just died. I have replaced several APC UPS with these and never looked back. I don't set them to connect to WiFi (don't need firmware upgrade any way) and it can save some extra power without WiFi. Will replace the last APC UPS with this to avoid the hassle of battery change.

Using powerstrips off the 1 ac plug to run electronics etc off it? Have a ups with 5 ac plugs!

I just bought two lithium batteries for my cyberpower ups, ~$40. Would have liked this instead. Hopefully the river 3 gets even better with another model in time.

You can definitely use a power strip on this unit.

There are actually two more AC plugs at the back of River 3 Plus, where I plug two key electronics. The front AC plug is rarely used to keep things tidy. For similar price to UPS with 10-year battery life, this is no brainer. It ends up cheaper than UPS with much bigger battery capacity.
There is one drawback on the unit if I can think of: if the AC output switch is pressed accidently, then the AC output is turned off immediately. I put a switch protection on it to solve this problem.

Seems like a great deal. I was looking for one to use primarily as a UPS replacement for my network devices.

Many people including myself have been looking into these as replacement UPS. A bit of a warning. Mots of these do not have AVR function. Nor do they have a USB port to turn off power to your computer. They are mainly for backup power. Also, you dont want to have the battery at 100% in UPS mode or the life will shorten. Set it at 85%. Finally, these are best for situations where you have low power needs but you want to run a long time when power is off.
