Got this last time around. It broke in a week. Though I'm not sure if it was from a cat sleeping on it or a drunk chick stepping through it. Either way, I went with metal for the replacement

I just assume when buying things like this that I'll have to basically reinforce if not entirely rebuild it using actual hardware. Think about getting this just to pull the shelves apart & cut the slats in half so it'll fit behind the door since that's where the shoes are already, just need some vertical real estate. Why wouldn't you want your shoes to protrude a little bit anyway? Makes them easier to grab.
