I ordered two of these iphone 16e, 3 weeks apart.
Today when the first line expired as I never wanted to stay more than 1 month, just to get the phone and wait for the next 11 months. The second line, which still has 3 more weeks, is suspended by Metro asking me to pay for the first line. Damn you Metro...🤣 those are two different lines.
why would u not paying the first line effect the 2nd? it's prepayed no? cant one just do a month and cancel?

I wish to know the answer to your "why"
I called Metro today, they corrected it for me in their system.

Has anyone tried 3 month service and did get 100$ card back? or need 4 month service to be active?
Quote from skywaytp :
I would like to know more about this too.
I have 2 iphone 16e. Not sure if we just complete payment til the end of the 3rd month service on both lines and Metro would send us $200 giftcard, or we have to be on the 4th month.
anybody know the answer to this or care to share a hunch?

terms are vague, they read "After your third month of service with your new line, you'll need to properly complete a form for your virtual prepaid Mastercard."

i can totally see them giving the run-around if you don't remain active past month 3. especially so if you port out.

Edit: I see lower in the terms "Account must be active and in good standing when card is issued." But in the other thread somebody said you get a text with a link for the card five business days after making your third monthly payment.

On a different note, the other thread has conflicting claims that the 365 day unlock may or may not work if you port out (as opposed to just abandoning the number and letting service lapse.) Any truth to this?

Would you happen to know if the tablet and/or the watch would be locked as well to Metro and require 365 days to be unlocked?

Edit: I also was just able to use Google voice number, that I just got, paid $3 to unlock and set up pin and submitted to transfer number using my local zip code and it worked fine. Waiting for my phone to be shipped. Very easy process.
how soon do they ship?

So, if you don't want to remain a metro customer, why pay three months to get $100? I mean, cost of getting $100 back would be $55+$50+$50+$50 = $205 (assuming you have autopay and fourth month needed since terms says line must be active). Also, if you downgrade after first month, I think they charge downgrade fee. So what am I missing? Whereas if you just stop after first month then it is $100+$55.

I've ported out the number on an iPhone in the past and it still unlocked but could be ymmv.

took two-three business days. Still have not received it (they say they will ship it two day air, however they shipped it Ground shipping). Was supposed to come today, however due to the snowstorm in the east coast, the package is in limbo.

It was $30 for my 2nd and $30 for my 3rd. I don't think you get 30 days from activation on the 2nd and 3rd phones I believe Metro goes by the first lines 30 days.

just the two months of "free" (after card value considered) service. but like you said if you don't want or care about this, then no reason

somebody claimed in the other thread that the link to apply for the card comes 5 business days after you pay for month 3, if true and there's no need to stay into month 4 then maybe it makes sense for some people

This has been mentioned before but if you are trying to port out from Red Pocket make sure you disable the Port Blocker setting associated with that line under the Manage Number section, I tried without doing that first and had a very difficult time getting it to work after that. After getting Metro to cancel the request by calling their port line it still failed, what finally worked for me was getting to the final step before they attempt the port on the Metro side and then getting Red Pocket chat support to confirm the number was released before I tried again, that finally got the process to work on the Metro side.

You really need to have Red Pocket chat confirm that the number is released or that they are immediately ready to release before getting past they payment screen on the Metro side, their chat is helpful but way too slow to release if you get to the pending release screen on the Metro side and they haven't already released it.

Has this been confirmed ? I don't want to get stuck paying for a 4th month.

It's official!
The iPhone 16e has a trade in value of $310. So trade it in for an unlocked 17e if you like.

Can we trade 3 in at 1 time in store and get $930 off another iPhone?
