Today when the first line expired as I never wanted to stay more than 1 month, just to get the phone and wait for the next 11 months. The second line, which still has 3 more weeks, is suspended by Metro asking me to pay for the first line. Damn you Metro...🤣 those are two different lines.
I called Metro today, they corrected it for me in their system.
I have 2 iphone 16e. Not sure if we just complete payment til the end of the 3rd month service on both lines and Metro would send us $200 giftcard, or we have to be on the 4th month.
terms are vague, they read "After your third month of service with your new line, you'll need to properly complete a form for your virtual prepaid Mastercard."
i can totally see them giving the run-around if you don't remain active past month 3. especially so if you port out.
Edit: I see lower in the terms "Account must be active and in good standing when card is issued." But in the other thread somebody said you get a text with a link for the card five business days after making your third monthly payment.

On a different note, the other thread has conflicting claims that the 365 day unlock may or may not work if you port out (as opposed to just abandoning the number and letting service lapse.) Any truth to this?
Would you happen to know if the tablet and/or the watch would be locked as well to Metro and require 365 days to be unlocked?
Edit: I also was just able to use Google voice number, that I just got, paid $3 to unlock and set up pin and submitted to transfer number using my local zip code and it worked fine. Waiting for my phone to be shipped. Very easy process.

somebody claimed in the other thread that the link to apply for the card comes 5 business days after you pay for month 3, if true and there's no need to stay into month 4 then maybe it makes sense for some people
You really need to have Red Pocket chat confirm that the number is released or that they are immediately ready to release before getting past they payment screen on the Metro side, their chat is helpful but way too slow to release if you get to the pending release screen on the Metro side and they haven't already released it.

The iPhone 16e has a trade in value of $310. So trade it in for an unlocked 17e if you like.
