1) port my number back out to my current provider mint mobile after several months. Not pay for metro. Have iphone unlocked in 12 months
2) downgrade the phone plan to the cheapest after 1 month, keep paying for metro for that year, and once phone is unlocked go back to mint?
i need both a new phone and would actually use the cellular service, but would switch back to mint ideal asap as they are much cheaper. I understand that I would need to wait for a year to be unlocked. Would metro charge any other extras?

to get two with the second only needing to pay $30 for the month of service instead of $55, you buy one and wait for it to arrive (so you can log in using the SMS they send to the new phone) and use "add a line" once logged in to buy the second.
Edit: you might be able to get a third, i've gotten two and if I use add a line and type a non-T-Mobile number to port it, it still shows $99, but I don't know if the order would go through (I don't have a non-T-Mobile number to port at the moment). If I type in a Tello (T-Mobile MNVO) number to port in, the price changes from $99 to $299.

Edit: Ah I see, you traded them in to an Apple store.
