I was able to get a Red Pocket e-SIM number for $7.78 and successfully ported it in to Metro. Plus Metro total of $165.24. All in with eSIM port-in and Metro is $173.02. Now we wait for it to unlock lol

Phone unlocking in one year is a deal-breaker.

So this deal is not exactly desirable, especially if you have no need/value for the prepaid service. However, I've been waiting for years for an upgrade offer for my aging personal iPhone (an iPhone 12 mini on T-Mobile). I like to retain a personal iPhone as part of my Apple ecosystem of devices (which recently grew to include the watch, but otherwise is anchored by my work phone).

I'm imagining that if a mother's day deal doesn't come along this year on TMO akin to the one in 2021 ( https://www.t-mobile.com/news/off...t-t-mobile ), then buying the Metro iPhone 16e at $155 and sitting on it for a year is a solid, low-cost path to a low-priority upgrade of my aging personal iPhone(?). The era of competitive "free" upgrade offers on iPhone models, especially from TMO, appear to be behind us for now.

Note that the only real ding on my 12 mini has been that it remains my only lightning connector device. I work around that with wireless charging, but would consider it much more convenient to fully eliminate one more connector from the home and maintain my personal iPhone with the same wired infrastructure for all my other phones/devices. The only other exception are my micro-USB Kindle devices.

Good luck!
Jon

will this phone line still work after one month if you dont pay after the first month? or the phone will not be useable until it is unlocked after a year?

Never works here. I kept trying to add a second line and I tripped some internal "you don't get another" flag. Oh well.

I did my first one on google voice $3 for port out, $100 phone, $55 plan, $165 after taxes. My google account still shows the number i ported out two weeks later so I decided to try a different route instead of using google voice again. Usmobile cheapest line is $7, chat to get port out info. Add a line, 16e again, $99 phone, $30 plan, $8 taxes, total $138. Probably will try a third line i don't remember how many lines you can do on one account, or how many you can do before they start shadow banning your credit card. Luckily this was a newly replaced credit card. I really need to switch to a CC that has virtual CC numbers...1st 16e = $1652nd 16e = $1303rd 16e = probably also $130I have a stack of metro iphones and they always unlock after the alotted time, it used to be a few months, now its 1 year, and its been one year since last year, it unlocked after I checked after a year in the drawer. Google voice for $3 and usmobile for $7 is the cheapest for numbers to port, the ebay ones are now $17-25 unlike $7 like the old days.
Does Google Voice port out still work?

Where is US Mobile for $7? I see $10 or so as their cheapest.

Thank you!
