I've had this controller for almost 2 years. Bought it from target for $70ish. It randomly got stick drift. Drift lasted 2 days. Then went back to normal. It was odd. I figure it will happen again.

Buy the best buy warranty. First year you send it back to Microsoft. Second year you exchange it at Best buy, then get the warranty for a new one and repeat. Never pay full price again.

This is the way.

I used to set a reminder to send them back after a year because the bumpers would wear out. Its the best "pro" controller design in terms of usability but the absolute worst in durability.

These are not durable controllers. The rubber grip on my Elite controller has been peeling after about a year (just out of warranty). Searched about it and it turns out that this happens to a lot of people. Don't think I'll ever get another Elite controller again due to this. It's also significantly heavier than the regular controller and often I find myself just going back to the regular one due to how fatiguing it is to play with a heavy controller for several hours.

I sent mine back to Microsoft twice. They sent me a different controller with a different issue each time. They probably had the thing more than I did, POS but I've heard other controllers are similar.

Honest question: why is Microsoft insisting on releasing these controllers without hall effect sticks and triggers...? I mean, I've got so many Chinese made Xbox style controllers and it's been awesome. It's a fraction of the price of these. I game mostly on PC and I just use regular Xbox controllers when I play on my Series X.

I play FIFA/FC series games a lot and do have to press fast hard during online matches. The R2 button is heavily used for sprinting players and nw has a sticky issue that goes away but keeps coming back. I had thought higher prices controller will be better but it lasted similar to normal XB controllers.
