Buying a used folding phone is risky and it's not excellent condition either. Never know how long it might take to have screen issues

You cannot use the other Spens with the fold. You have to get the fold version.

I have the Z fold 5. Been using it for 2 years. No issues, dont need a pen. I'm on it more than my work computer. The Dex is amazing! I'll never go back to the standard phone. If your in to videos, stocks, etc ... the fold is the way to go. I'm considering buying a 6 just to have as a back up. Only get an unlocked!

No contract, no worries, no b.s.

Yeah it stacks (unless something changes, it shows on my PP)

Taking a gamble but if it arrives fine then main screen should be fine unless weird manufacturing defect or inner screen protector lifts and pushes on main one. Also opening it when its really cold and not letting phone get to room temp can also cause screen to crack. Otherwise sand/debris in hinge or on screen or fingernails are your only real enemies.

My total was $403 and change after taxes; the listing only mentions taxes in NY, but I'm far from there and was still charged tax. I got the Pay in 4 option to show up after selecting PayPal as the payment method, so around $80 in rewards should post in 2 weeks. There's also 5% CB available through a more recent browser extension.

This phone should get updates through 2027. Given the fragility of fold models over traditional candybar models, I'll be happy to get 2 years out of it for that price. Worst case scenario, if I really hate it, I should be able to flip it, or it might get a hefty trade-in value when the S26 drops.

Also worth noting: this doesn't come with an S Pen. Those who have a Fold (any version), is it worth getting the pen separately? And if so, is the Pro worth the extra cost over the Fold version?

There's no place to store the pen in the phone, so that also limits case options.

Well, any used phone is a risk, not just foldable phones.

Did you use the eBay app or through the website on you phone or PC?

If you buy a 6, I highly recommend this case.
Amazon keywords "BERFY for Z Fold 6 Case"
I've bought 2 of them so far, since I happened I to break mine. It'll hold an S pen, has kickstands for all orientations, and Magsafe support. It's worth the price! By far the best case I've ever owned.
And, if you're wondering, I bought it twice because I broke one of the kickstands while it was extended. I'll take the blame, as I've used this case hard and dropped the phone many times and haven't had any issues.

That's not what @bankofthedank is saying. When you buy a foldable brand new, you get a stronger warranty and free screen maintenance from the manufacturer by default for a reason. Buying one second hand is not going to come with those same benefits. This particular phone is kinda like buying a sports car you can't change the oil on. Other phones don't need maintenance like most foldables do.

Any sort of warranty that covers the phone if the inside screen gets broken or malfuntions?

I have a Wells Fargo credit card that covers broken / lost phones

Plenty of cases that come with a pen you can use on the phone. Personally, as someone who's used the S-Pen on most of my phones the last few years I don't think it's worth the expense but worth having some kind of pen if you can get it at a reasonable price.

For those looking at this phone and other foldable I would also suggest the Back Market app. They have the same phone in very good, excellent, and premium condition at a very reasonable price + you can use PayPal for the extra 20% cashback. If you take a few minutes you can hunt down an additional discount code for $25 off the price on various coupon sites. All in all you can get one in "excellent" condition for about $550 with a 1yr warranty included. Just throwing this out there for those looking for something in a better condition. Once you get the 20% back from PayPal you're looking at about $110 back making the total phone cost around $440 or so.

Keep in mind most of the sellers selling used foldable on eBay and Back Market include a 1 year warranty with the phone. I'm sure it's not as comprehensive as the one from the manufacturer but will still cover manufacturers defects, dead pixels, damaged screens (not caused by drops/water, etc)
I would advice anyone buying a used foldable to make sure they check the seller rating, the return policy, and if they offer a warranty. Lastly use PayPal to pay for an extra layer of consumer protection.
