Also available as a standalone deal, for those who don't have Hulu.

If you read the terms and conditions, you can only redeem this on a Hulu or ESPN account. The Disney/Hulu bundle is billed through Disney. It states you cannot redeem this if billed on Disney, making the AMEX card member discount of $7 ineffective for the additional $3 bucks (Disney bundle $5 plus what people wanted of HBO $3 totaling $8 bucks). I personally tried and no go.

I'd go stand alone because in 2026 Hulu itself goes bye bye and will be a tab in Disney+.

This Hulu add on is mainly attractive for getting HBO Max with ads at a low monthly price, especially for people trying to stack it with Amex streaming credits. The strongest upside is the potential to keep Hulu billing in play while trimming out of pocket cost, and the Hulu app itself is preferred over HBO's app by some. The catch is that the promo is finicky, often requiring Hulu billing and a qualifying base plan, and it frequently jumps to $9.99 or fails to combine with the $5 Disney and Hulu bundle. Ads are heavy, and the plan does not include 4K.

Looks like the $2.99 deal is only for 1080p, not 4k. Fine for watching on a small screen but if you have a bigger TV, sadness.
Our 65" TV is only 1080p, so it's fine for us. And it's about 10 feet away, so it wouldn't matter much if it was 4K at that distance.

Absolutely ridiculous people are paying to watch ads.
Call me kooky me and the wife don't mind the ads usually. Gives us time to get up and go to the bathroom, grab a soda, grab popcorn, etc

We see the $3 HBO in Hulu/Disney, with the $4.99 deal when on our Firestick, but it won't let us add it. We do not see it on our PC on the web or in the Hulu or Disney apps (only for $9.99 on those). I would like to add the $3 HBO since we have the Amex discount for hulu/disney. If we add it via Prime, we don't get the Amex discount for HBO.

No Hulu standalone this year it seems

Hulu/Disney is $4.99
Hbomax add-on is $2.99
I am wondering about something. Can I get the three for 4.99 plus 2.99? Or that isn't possible?

I bought the new Disney + Hulu bundle. I am not able to use Hulu app. It is asking to use Disney plus app for Hulu. Hulu does not seem to have Hotstar content from India in US.

Does anyone know if this add-on is available on a Hulu student account (student account directly through Hulu, not Spotify)?
