I think someone said they got fake one but when ask how they know it is fake, they didn't reply. And many said they got genuine Apple charger using the steps below to check.

Here's how to tell if a MacBook charger is a genuine Apple charger. Not sure if fake one able reproduce to this detail yet.

here's how to tell if a MacBook charger is a genuine Apple product.

Plug the charger into an outlet and connect the MacBook to it. Then, hold down the OPTION key on your MacBook and click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of the screen, then System Information…

From there, click on Power in the left-hand column. If the charger is genuine, this will show the manufacturer as Apple Inc, along with information about the charger, including the hardware and firmware versions. (System Information > Hardware > Power > AC Charger Information)

If the charger is not a genuine Apple charger, then you will see a lot less information. (shown in the attached pictures).

This screen also shows the output wattage of the charger, which is a good way to check if the charger you have is delivering the power it promises.

Someone ordered in previous deal said their System information show the same info as genuine Apple charger. Again, not sure if non-genuine Apple charger able to reproduce this kind of System information yet but if it cost them more money, probably not worth it for them to do it when most people probably don't check for it or by the time people found out, they already stop selling them and move on.

Exactly why I'm buying this, want a second one to keep it at my office so I don't have to lug such a bulky charger around haha
Right, it's a great stay-at-home charger.

Question for anyone who is knowledgeable - will the charger work with non-apple devices?
Yes it will.

Still the most efficient 140w charger on the market apparently. But large.

Bought. Hate the fact that I had to pay $6 for shipping. I'll check and report back here once I get mine on whether it's an official Apple charger or not.

Thanks OP!

Update: Mine is authentic. Ordered yesterday. Got it today. That's super-fast shipping, so didn't mind the expensive $6 shipping cost as much now.

There's no option to enter the $5 coupon code on the cart.
Where to enter the code? after clicking on the yellow "Amazon Pay >>" button?

Just be aware it is huge. Would not want to travel with it.
When you say huge, how big it is compared to any standard Laptop power adapters?

I remember when you could buy these with the AC and usb-c cord included. Was more expensive but was nice having everything from Apple in one box.

So I'm just going to take another popular 140watt USB C charger off Amazon. The Anker A2697 has 3x USB C ports and 1x USB A port. It measures 2.72x2.72x1.42.

This has a single USB C port. It measures 5.51x4.64x1.28.

It's very big but with that added mass it's not likely to overheat even when pulling it's max rated output.

If I'm just getting this for an iPhone, is it any better than the 70 W one?

Nope. The max charge rate on their largest flagship phone the 17 Pro Max is 40 watts and it won't pull that for long. This is for high wattage/capacity devices like tablets and macbook pros which are the only apple device that can fully take advantage of it. Even the base model macbook pro won't charge at it's full rated output. You will need the M4 Pro and M4 Max models to get the full charge rate.

Like this but it is also at least 3x heavier.

I've ordered it before from Woot and as far as I can tell it's legit. Weight is correct, markings look fine, and my MacBook recognizes it correctly with a proper serial number.
It's not the smallest nor the most versatile in terms of charging protocols, but its thermals are good and it supports Apple's AC extension cord. It also doesn't leak much current over USB-C ground so I don't feel tiny shocks when touching my aluminum MacBook.

I got a fake charger which is why I'll NEVER buy an Apple charger or accessory from Woot again. They admited it was fake, offered a discount, and said that they could not be held accountable for third party shippers. Look up fires caused by fake, cheap Chinese chargers. Burning down your home is not worth a discount.

If I don't have a MacBook, can I use my IPad Pro M4 to check if this is legit?
