4.5 star average but
"Frequently returned item"
Fabric: 94% Nylon, 6% Spandex

UPF50...are people getting sunburned through their pants often? this is not a problem I've run into despite never buying UPF rated pants

I love the fit of these pants. It says "frequently returned for a loose fit", but to me they're a more athletic slimmer through the thighs and leg openings than other Eddie Bauer hiking pants (Guide Pro, Horizon Guide). However, the waist may run a bit loose? I vary from 30-32 waist, but these fit well in 30's. The side "cargo" pocket may not be for everyone, but it stays tight to the thigh if empty. One minor issue is the back pockets (on mine) have Velcro, which snags shirts. The EB website says back pockets hsve "hook and loop" closures, so perhaps they've updated (not sure what Amazon is carrying).

Sizes are limited. But Eddie Bauer website currently has more available for $35 (need to buy more for free shipping). That's not as slick or a deal, but these are one of my personal favorite hiking pants.

I believe "hook and loop" is the term for generic Velcro.

The velcro pockets are the one thing I hate about the Eddie Bauer pants/shorts. Makes it so much more difficult to get a wallet in & out.

I am a bit concerned on quality, but i have many eddie bauer pants from over the years... I have two sets of these and so far they are holding up. But let see... can always take them back in and see if eddie b will replace them...
