I did the iPhone 13 deal with visible last year. Note that for eSIM you must activate service on the device you bought. They were also a PITA regarding unlock. I activated the phone on their service and then moved the service to another iPhone. The iPhone 13 never unlocked and customer service was not helpful at all. I then used the iPhone 13 another line for 60 days and that apparently didn't count either since it wasn't the line the phone was purchased on. Overall if you want an unlocked phone make sure you use it on the original account for which you purchased it for 60 continuous days after activation.

But be aware since it is a Verizon subsidiary it is just a sim unlock - the bootloader lock (OEM unlock) remains greyed out... had this experience with a pixel 9a I got from visible.

$425 plus taxes, $465 total. Visible indeed includes all taxes/fees. Service is better too. P10Pro is not much of an upgrade from the standard P10. Too late for me to return but I think this is a better deal.

Just to be safe, I used a variation of my first name--e.g., Jim vs. James, Jack vs. John.

Please note that if you eventually want to keep your same cell phone number, you will have to port out to a different carrier (e.g., US Mobile, which offers a 30-day free trial), then port back into your new Visible account. I don't think Visible permits porting a phone number directly from one Visible account to another.

After I ported out of Visible 4 days ago, the app told me something like, "This account can't be reactivated. You are welcome to come back, and bring your number (if you still have it). But you'll need to use a different email address."
So no, they don't care.
They don't do family plans. So I think there's a lot of people who have several accounts under the same name.

I tried Visible and after a lot of data use they kept throttling me down to 1.5mb speeds. I had to call and they eventually reset it a few times but that got old.

You must have used A TON of data. I regularly use. 200GB/MO and haven't been throttled.

Let's say I don't want to use a new number or port my number from my other carrier (T-mobile, it will mess up all their bundels and family plans). Any issue with setting call forwarding to the new number for 60 days, and then unlock and use the device on my tmobile plan? (and keep the spare number for another 10 months for friends or something)

I was also considering the Fi deal (and the Mint Pro XL deal), but I went with Visible. Some thoughts:

  • For Fi to make sense you have to value the watch. I decided that I'm probably better off with the Garmin I already have. I am willing to just pull out my phone instead of fiddling with a watch - voice commands with AI may change that but I'll wait and see.
  • I see the 2 year carrier lock-in as a cost. I'd much rather have the option to switch phones or carriers after 1 year.
  • The Visible plan is better, and I feel Verizon has better coverage when outside of the city (skiing for me). If you do a lot of international travel or want tablet/laptop lines the calculation may tip in favor of Fi (though not for the $35 plan).
  • For Fi you can opt for the Pro for $200 extra, especially if you value Google's AI Pro service.
  • Visible does not charge any extra fees or taxes - just $450. Not sure about Fi, but Mint charges significant fees. Visible also had a $30 Amex offer, but that just expired, and I think you can get some points clicking through a shopping portal like Chase/AA.
  • You can get $60 off Fi with a referral code.
  • No option to trade-in with the Visible deal (I think they removed it as an option for the Pixel 10). So it's bit more of a hassle to sell an old phone.

how to disable auto pay on the plan? I want to unlock right after 60 days to bring to att or tmobile and dont want to continue with this service once its unlocked.
