1) Open your Xbox app or console
2) Click "view my benefits" within Xbox Game Pass header
3) Scroll down to the special treats to enjoy and click the Meta Quest VR bundle
4) Click the
www.meta.com [meta.com] URL to claim yours new; this appears to generate a unique URL as I can't access the page again after making my purchase
Listing the Meta website as the URL, but you actually need to go to your Xbox app or console to get a special URL to access the promotion. (Included app images for clearer directions)
If you're not an Xbox Game Pass member, you could likely sign up for a trial, download your code and then cancel Game Pass (if you don't want a membership).

If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.
Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.
$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)
ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.
When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when there is no active sale on the game.
You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.(examples kiwi, globular, boboVR)
If you have glasses or a stigmatism there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.
The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)
The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027
There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life. Others like Quest Games Optimizer have a price associated along with permissions.
The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.
You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.
If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.
I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.
360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.
Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.
Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.
Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.
Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)
If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.
Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables
Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in depth reviews.
I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.
Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial ran out)
Only use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses or risk removing the anti glare coating
Batman game extended through December 2026
I own a Quest 3
3) Scroll down to the special treats to enjoy and click the Meta Quest VR bundle.
It is there and ready, i just need to join game pass, hopefully a trial will work.
--Also, hey social_gamer, I do appreciate your psa of the quest but too many people like to /reply and say thanks, which makes it a 5 minute scroll per page. Maybe just make a link to the page of your slickdeals sme page of quest deals knowledge.
It's a good headset. The color passthrough and sharper display is nice but I don't think it's worth paying $400-500 for a new Q3
If you already like your Quest 2 lenses I would get a 3S as it has the processor of the Q3 with the lenses of the Q2. The"sweat-spot" of the new pancake lenses in the Q3 is more forgiving, but if you don't have issues finding that spot with the old Frenel lenses then you won't have an issue with the QS.
