180 (before fees and taxes) *12 = 2160 for one year
Now, 2160 * 4 = 8640
Over 4 years, without taxes and fees, it is 8640.
Add state and other junk taxes to the total, it is a cool $10k over 3 years you have coughed out as a family ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

It's always the larger picture that users do not take into account or aren't allowed to, when they dangle the shiny phones in front of you.

Even worse than that? When you "upgrade" every year or are given a 'deal' to stay with them after a year. That's how they become $$$$$ dollar companies. You become a perennial cash cow for these providers. They depend on your "it's too much to switch" or "they're good to me".

Your best bet is to stick to anything without contract or long term pricing. Yes, upfront it hurts, but the installment black hole will wring you dry. Doesn't matter who you go with.

2160 * 3 = 6480 for 3 years of service. But 4 new phones 1200 * 4 = 4800 already + bonus $200 gc

So $6480 / 4 = $1,620.00, subtract the $1200 value of the phone and you just got 3 years service for $420... $140 / year... $11.66 / month for unlimited. Plus fees sure but I don't see the downside here.

Not sure we'll ever go back to Verizon. 36 months is a full year beyond most other providers' contracts. You pay a premium for a service that is on par with less expensive competitors and if you leave/upgrade early, you get hit with the balance of what you owe on all of your devices.
After hearing for years about how much better Verizon service was, we've been continuously disappointed. We have way more service issues and dead zones with Verizon than we ever had with Mint or Google Fi. Way more money for worse coverage. No wonder they have to lock people into contracts to keep customers. Last time we every do a free phone deal.

Thanks for sharing this . Wouldn't we still need the line, which would be approximately $30 per line unlimited I guess. $30x4 lines x36 months=$4,320.00. Unless I am missing something

depends on your needs but it seems T-Mobile with their Costco collab is the new shit in town. Otherwise one of these other companies that piggyback off Verizon/Tmobile/ATT towers.

AgreeHad Verizon for years and switch to Google Fi and then got in on this deal. Already disappointed about dead zones I didn't have before. Hopefully TMobile will have a switch deal they can pay off the line in a few months after the phone unlocks

How about this calculations:
180 (before fees and taxes) 12 = 2160 for one year
2160 3 yrs = $6,480
Add 12% taxes you pay over the time = $6480
* 1.12 = 7257.60 total
4 free phones for 1200 = 7257.60 - 4800 = 2457.60 from your pocket
so basically you pay $68.26 per month for 4 lines to use verizon phone service that comes out to be $17.06 per phone line which I feel is pretty slickdeal

But you still need phones. This deal works if a) you need four new phones; b) were prepared to buy these premium phones; and c) are ok with Verizon as your carrier. Not everyone has the bucks to layout for four premium phones at once. Find a better deal to compare this to for those who need four premium new phones instead of just being negative.

If you can't pay for them in cash RIGHT NOW.
You should NOT be looking at this....that is true for any purchase(except primary residence).
Follow my advice and you will thank me in 5-10 years.
