Does anyone have a preference for this or the new CRKD guitar? I'm looking to start a fake rock band in my house again.

I have both. The PDP feels far better for me to play (the frets are smoother(?) and the strum bar is quieter yet feels more responsive). But the CRKD one just works. I don't have experience using it with Xbox or PS5, I use it on PC and a Windows Update basically broke the guitar's connectivity (which already feels like too much work downloading a special driver and then application to map the guitar). TL;DR if you're using this on PC, I'd pass. But on Xbox or PS5 I actually like this guitar better than the CRKD.

So this answers another question, and brings up another. How is Rock Band in PC, and how is getting songs for it?

On PC I use Clone Hero. There are whole communities mapping new songs as well as classics. Do a quick Google search and watch your step as you enter a rabbit hole!

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone tell me what the AC in the title means?

Typically means after coupon, so if there's no coupon in the post, it might found on the product page itself, or done automatically in the cart.
For this deal once you select the 'Save with like new' option on the right side, then under the price you see 'Save 15% on checkout' and a blue terms link to find out the details.

I've been playing RB3 Deluxe via RPCS3 emulator on PC for a bit now with the Xbox/PC version of this guitar and it runs perfectly. No stutters, latency can be adjusted, custom songs are easy to add. In order to use the guitar you need to download the RB4 Instrument Mapper program, and before using it (every time) you must go into device manager and uninstall Microsoft Game input. Then it works perfectly.

The PS4 version of the guitar is plug and play, but doesn't have wammy or tilt for overdrive/Star power.

I think the RB4 Mapper and uninstalling the Game Input every time is worth it for those features. You can follow this reddit thread for info:

Guitar plays like a dream, very smooth and responsive, been having an absolute blast.

Took me a short time to find a page that contained every song ever released for a plastic guitar game that could be imported to RB3, but there is in fact a single website with exactly that functionality out there that can be found. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post that here though.
