They don't even say McLaren on them! If you want great speakers for a great price, buy these. No question. To do better will cost multiple thousands.

Better in what ways? I bought the LSX II LT from Costco for $600 when they went on sale and am now wondering if this is a better deal.
Yea I was also wondering if I should return the KEF and get this one. Temping

Im new to the audio world and had eye balled the fives for the longest time. Would these make good tv speakers to replace a sound bar?
These would put even the most impressive sound bar to shame.

But they are huge. Integrating them into a living space is orders of magnitude more difficult than a sound bar.

I had the Fives. Loved them, but they didn't get loud enough for my space. Output will not be an issue for these behemoths.

I'm curious what people usually use for stands for them.

That's like asking if you should return your Toyota GR Supra for a Ford F-150 CrewMax.

Have these , used as fronts in a 7.1.2 surround set up. They are really good. It is true that the base in them is amazing and really makes the sub superfluous. These things should be more successful and well known. Their sound is awesome and their connectivity is superb, being powered and capable of connecting to anything pretty much from receiver to HDMis and Aux and USB. Just great gizmos.
No, these speakers do NOT make a sub superfluous. You may get usable bass down to 40 Hz, but even then your room will leave you with peaks and nulls. A properly calibrated sub will get you much deeper (20 Hz or even below) and will work with your room to give you even response. There's a huge difference

Far more bass without a sub. Similar good directivity. Similarly good frequency response. A lot more volume with less distortion all along the way. Buying new, I'd get the nines. If I already had the LSX, I'd keep them, unless you're saying, "Darn, I need more bass and volume!"

Well, even if you have a sub, the LSX has issues because it cannot play well to 80hz, so the sub will play in directional frequencies.

CrewMax?

NGL this metaphor is total mumbo jumbo. I have no idea what specific point you're making here.

Same boat, I got the Costco KEF, it's good, but doesn't have RAC for turntable and have conflict with my other devices for HDMI CEC.
Nines may be too big for computer desktop usage?

Do you have subwoofer to pair with KEF? I felt mines are kinda lite on bass somehow. I'm extremely happy on everything else on KEF tho.

No sub, I don't expect KEF have good sub given its size

I purchased these in 2023 -- the McLaren editions. They worked great up until EXACTLY 2 years right after purchase then this started happening.
(They worked so great that I had them replace my Polk LSIM Bookshelfs and two 12inch Klipsch subwoofers I got on. here in my bed room.)

I then reached out to them and they are seemingly dragging their feet. I know its the holiday season, but I feel like they are going to screw me over on it.

Had these for a couple years. They sound absolutely incredible even without a sub. Note that the amplifier may go out on you and you should probably buy an extended warranty. Mine died and they replaced them with a brand new set. Again, these sound fantastic if you have the space.

I'd like to make the jump into speakers since I've always had a relatively high end TV, gpu in my comp, etc. I normally use a cheap like 150 dollar aoundbar.
Trying to decide if I should get these or the sevens since both seem to be for sale at good prices. My room is pretty big about 20x20 with ceilings a little over 9 ft, but i only sit about 8 feet away from the TV. It's a big open room that doubles as living and dining.
It isn't about volume much because I dont even usually like things very loud. It would just be quality of sound and if these are overkill for my use versus a better soundbar.
