My grandchildren see their parents and other adults using modern digital phones and have toy touch phones which they use for play.

Style and taste? What child born in the last 3 decades knows or cares about wired rotary phone toy especially in a toy? . Or for that matter wants to play with one after they see their parents cell phone? What you are really saying is that it's for older folks reliving their childhood. You're dating yourself the rest of us have moved on. Should we teach them how to use pay phones as well…oh thats right they don't exist anymore either. The closest comparison would be the day I built a game emulator and loaded 2k of games from the 80s,90s, and 2000s and presented it to my kid. He promptly asked me whats wrong with all the graphics on there games I asked him what he ment and said well they look like crap. I said well son thats what we had to work with back then. He said oh wow I am sorry and went to play fortnite. He hasn't touched it since.
