I try to post this helpful info when I see sales. (Refurbs may not get the free game or activation credit) **CURRENTLY $60 THROUGH DECEMBER 31ST**.
If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.
Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.
$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)
ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.
When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when there is no active sale on the game.
You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.(examples kiwi, globular, boboVR)
If you have glasses or a stigmatism there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.
The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)
The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027
There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life. Others like Quest Games Optimizer have a price associated along with permissions.
The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.
You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.
If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.
I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.
360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.
Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.
Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.
Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.
Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)
If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.
Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables
Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in depth reviews.
I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.
Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial ran out)
Only use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses or risk removing the anti glare coating
Best Buy is not the best deal you can get.
I am not trying to be mysterious its just that SD filters specific topics because they prefer you to purchase through affiliate links so when I posted the info it was removed.

How do I get Batman in conjunction with this deal?
How do I get Batman in conjunction with this deal?
Through Meta support if the packaging shows the batman game. Some people are reporting this particular promotion doesn't include it but YMMV with support as some were able to get it with the Costco bundle.

Thanks for posting this. I dont know a thing about the unit. I am going to get this deal. They really have not done much discounting on this. Its possible META holds them to 499 as the retail price, so they use the gift card. Costco and some other warehouse clubs mostly sell the 3S. Ill keep an eye out for them in case they drop a deal.

Best Buy is not the best deal you can get.
I am not trying to be mysterious its just that SD filters specific topics because they prefer you to purchase through affiliate links so when I posted the info it was removed.
What do you mean by "All Sales" ? Are you referring to game offers? What are some sites that offer prescription lenses for $20 ?
"ALL SALES" meaning a spring sale(example) could be on and for some reason you don't get the promo code meanwhile your friend or second account does. The affiliate codes are 20% and the friend code is 10% on non sale games. The lenses can be purchased and I got mine through AliExpress.
Best Buy is not the best deal you can get.

yep, 50%.... already showing, someone on reddit claimed they got 75% but sadly I have not , if I do I may buy another
also they give $50 discount if you have edu email address so $499 - $50 edu - $225
for awhile I was not liking the app because they offered crappy gift cards but it has gotten better - cashed out a few hundred on Walmart which they had last week - to me Walmart/Amazon is 99% as good as cash
