Thanks, i have been debating what to grab for the five-year-old and this was better than all the flimsy power wheels. and the price is the lowest of all this style with a brand I can get parts for.

I have two and they're great.

How are these on hills? We have a Razor pocket mod and it cannot handle any hill and it's 24 volts as well.

Id lke to know if i can eaisly mod this to use an 18V ryobi battery instead of the 24V battery included. Im guessing it just wont go as fast, but thats ok - i just want an upgrade compared to a 12V ride on.

We have hills in our yard, and they work fine. You can also upgrade it to 36 volt easily down the road. The kit is available on Ebay.

This same Razor quad is over $600 on Amazon. Target just changed the color green. We purchased from Amazon and a year later jumped on this one from Target for much cheaper.

I have two of these and my kids love them. These are substantial and I upgraded one to 36v for my eight year old. Easy job, and now it goes 12mph.

The process isn't hard, and yes, you'll lose power.
There won't be an auto shutoff in the quad, though, so you'll need to either add one or never let the batteries drain. Otherwise the batteries will completely drain and they aren't rechargeable then.
also, the seat doesn't easily lift off, so you'll need to either modify that or deal with screws to pull it off to get to the batteries each time.
You can get larger motors on eBay and go to 36v, and run in series? To use two batteries and get more power. That's honestly the there way to go. There's whole kits with better throttles and battery indicators, etc. for these on eBay.

Ryobi batteries have the shut off built in.

Thanks for posting. I have a red version of this exact quad. My oldest start driving it at 2-3 years old.

Biggest suggestion for those kids under 5 is adding a limiter to help them figure out a twist throttle.

I converted my oldest (now 5) to 36v with Ryobi batteries. Even in 24v the form it can handle mud just fine. Biggest benefit of Ryobi batteries is ability to hot swap them for continuous riding. Standard batteries take awhile to charge back up

I missed it. Hopefully it comes down again before Christmas.
