TL/DR Brushless are better but these are still fine (and a pretty damn good deal, too).
But, for the weekend warrior or do-it-yourselfer, you will have a hard time ever wearing out the brushed tools vs brushless. And, ridgid seems to have the best customer support, they will send you parts to fix things if they do break down. or, ya can mail the worn out tool into ridgid service center. they've got the best warranty and support in the industry. I'm in pretty deep with milwaukee and bosch ecosystem, but if I had it to do over again, I'd buy most or all of my stuff from ridgid, and cherry pick a few tools that I worry about wearing out. And the tools that are certainly in that category are the cordless drill and "impact" wrench. They are two of the most common tools anyone will use, and by the time you start thinking about repairing, you may be happy to upgrade into the newer version of those tools.
