I have mentioned the previous FP deal on this, and no new model of this has gone on sale for $599 after it.

I own this laptop. Neither heat nor noise is an issue. On the default fan profile, you won't even hear the fan most of the time.

I bought this refurb and definitely got a dud so had to return it. I really wanted to like it, but I think there's a reason most units were returned and sometimes the refurbishment process cannot identify the exact fix to the reason they were returned. My touchpad would go haywire and ghost control the mouse & click on random things for about 1 minute & then suddenly everything would be fine. I had trouble connecting and staying connected to public Wi-Fi at airports and on the plane to watch entertainment; would require multiple computer restarts to generate the initial 'sign in / accept terms and conditions' page. After finally connecting, the connection would randomly drop and then have to redo the above to get reconnected. I'm not computer savvy enough to figure out if the above could have been fixed with resets / messing with settings / uninstalling & reinstalling stuff, but I'm also not interested in taking chances on an expensive piece of equipment outside of the return window, nor do I have the time to research how to fix such strange things. I am ok spending a little more for the same level of laptop, or I'm ok sacrificing on features if I want to stay in this price range. If you get a good unit, this deal is fantastic. The screen is drop dead gorgeous. Laptop is very light. Thunderbolt port & all the other specs at this price point are unbeatable.
