My son is 6 and had no issues but the truck breaks a lot for a truck, the side doors open up and disconnect frequently so I wouldn't recommend it

The age suggestions are just that - suggestions. You can start with a smaller City car set and see how the 6 year old handles that?

My 6 yo would be able to handle this by herself. We just did a ninjago dragon mech and I barely had to do a thing ❤️

This. My 5yo was able to build a speed champions set rated 10+ but gets really frustrated when the pieces come apart. He wants to play with them as cars and trucks, because they are!
