The same kit is $89 at Fasteners Inc (plus $8.74 shipping for orders under $150). As well as being cheaper, the Fasteners deal does not risk getting batteries from the infamous Amazon co-mingled stock.

Ridgid has lifetime warranty on their batteries, but DeWalt has better tool selection.

"Dewalt batteries don't die" - can confirm - have (3) with 2014 vintage stamped on them - they still work just fine.

The Lowe's deal is much better. I like the fact that you get 4 and can swap between. The 5ah have a stronger and longer runtime, but 4ah isn't too far off. Plus you could likely sell the 2ah batteries for $20 each and end up coming out of pocket of $60 for the 2- 4ah batteries. Just a thought

Agree that they die. I've a LOT of dewalt 20V and Flexvolt batteries, (and tools) dating from ~ 2013 for the 20V.
I've had at least 4 batteries die.

But that was out of perhaps $2K worth of batteries. (based on retail MSRP)

Get the best deal that offers more batteries. If one or two die in a 5 year span, your ahead. I'm doing that and buying those $15 battery adapters. I've gone thru too many over the years. I'm a DIY guy, so my life doesn't hinge on how long the battery lasts on a job.

For example, I upgraded my leaf blower this spring to a Greenworks 80V Pro with 4.0 and 2.5AH batteries for $160. I just did my whole house (11/29)with a 80V pro cordless snowblower I also bought and all lights were still lit.
I bought the cordless blower for my teens so they don't have to fudge with my mix Toro or 2 stage for moderate snowfall. Btw, That leaf blower is a beast... it cut my fall leaf cleanup time in 1/2.

They all die as quality control "snowblows". These companies are going to give you lifetime warranty the same as Hyundai giving 100k/10yr on they're cars. if you sell a 1 million, if 10K have issues, your ahead. Look at how many transmission issues the Santa Fe had recently... are they out of business because of that? No.
