I had a PS4 with a 500 GB hard drive, not 1000 GB and they still took it. About $500 for a PS5pro, not bad at all. 170$ for a 12-13 year old PS4 is awesome.
Dont forget to wipe out your old device before trade-ing in.

Does it "have" to be the 1TB that you're trading in, or can it be the 500GB A model? I've seen multiple people claiming they've traded theirs in without verification that it's a 1TB, and on the BB trade-in site, it doesn't say 1TB - it just drops down to a Playstation 4 only. Any help would be much appreciated. Clarification - I will be doing this in-store, the item is in stock, I will be trading in an A model 500GB PS4, and the store is 40 minutes from me, so I'd like to have all of my ducks in a row before proceeding there this weekend. Just got back from Bestbuy and this is how it went.
I had a PS4 (Fat) Batman Edition (Grey 500gb) with a grey controller. This thing was dusty and dirty. The controller was messed up but in working condition.
The cashier was saying he could not locate this version of the PS4. He did a little more work and found it. I was trying to get $70 but ended up get $50 for it.
The cashier did not know about the deal Bestbuy was having and neither did the managers. He was trying to tell me that I had to do the trade in online. I showed him this link (https://www.bestbuy.com/trade-in/...7zdM2VcwU0) and pointed to the instructions for "In Store". He was also trying to say that it was for the PS5 Pro only. Again, I pointed to where it said "PS5 or PS5 Pro".
After about an 45 minutes, he figured out how to do the deal.
They need to print two documents. 1. for the $100 discount on the new PS5 (which ever you choose to get). 2. For the trade in of your PS4 in the value of $50 (remember, this all depends on what version you have).
You must do the following for this to work
- sign both documents
- add your finger print for each document
- Scan your Drivers license.
Before I went to bestbuy, I stopped by gamestop to see how much they'd give me for my PS4. First off, the guy working there acted like hes a god because he works at gamestop. Had major attitude because I asked to get a trade in value. He connected the PS4 and the controller. He tested the controller and said it wasnt working properly. Then said he needed to send it to texas to get it fully tested and could not give me a quote.Once thats done, the cashier prints out another document that has the barcode with the $100 discount off a PS5. The money for your PS4 will be in form of a gift card.
After all that, I ended up walking out with a PS5 Slim with disc and ended up paying just $320.

-No. They really dont care.
