Depends on the application I suppose. I have metal too but I tend to reach for my plastic ones more because I find them more versatile. Plastic is less likely to damage whatever you're tying together and I don't like dealing with the sharp ends left after cutting a metal zip tie. I only use my metal ones when strength and outdoor exposure are top priorities.

I made the switch to metal zip ties and no longer have to wonder if they will crack due to elements exposure. have had way too many in the past claim they are uv resistant and strong and whatnot

Depends on the application I suppose. I have metal too but I tend to reach for my plastic ones more because I find them more versatile. Been using ones like this for 10 years or more. I wrap the upright posts with pool noodles and then wrap the complete gazebo every year. That is February 16th, 2016.

I bought a ladder from an AC tech. I was trying to strap it to my roof rack with ratchet straps. He busted out these and a tool to tighten them. It was a lot simpler. I went home and ordered straps and the tool. Perfect application.
