This isn't a good price. Should be around $250.
You mean "I'd like to pay $250 for this drive". We won't see that kind of price for the next 3 years - Google and companies like that will gladly pay prices close to this and they buy EB and PB of storage.
We will not see price reductions until the AI boom is over. For those wanting the pricing of 2-3 years ago - the SSD makers were selling below cost (it's complicated). In addition, no new fabs are under construction - Micron will start building one of three in 2027 (to finish in 2030) - that's the next fab coming.
The cost of a new fab is over $10 billion - so not likely that new companies will get into this space.
Not anymore, SSD pricing in is up 25%+ and continuing to rise due to a NAND shortage and it's expected to get worse
Yea give it a couple more weeks and it will go up again.
Nand shortage and nand makers hiking prices. They have done this several times and caught several times. Yet those slaps on the wrist don't seem to be working, weird.

Keep telling yourself that. I paid $249 a few months ago.
The shortage only became more apparent around ~September. Prices should keep steadily climbing into the end of next year based on forecasts (which you can easily look up on your own). If you check DRAM prices, the sticker shock is even more apparent.

People like you said something similar in 2022...and yet, the prices have dropped that low multiple times since. It's almost like certain individuals are incentivized to get others to pay higher prices...tsk tsk tsk.

In june 2023 i paid around 150 before tax per 4tb 850x drive with a freebee 8gb flash drive. Bought two that time. Best splurge ever! Lol.
