Correct, leave the faceplate on. I usually tape the original screw to the underside of the extender.

Bought one a week ago during last sale. It's nice to have but it doesn't tighten against the outlet very well, and hence is a little loose and insecure.

You will want to remove the faceplate. Use the provided screw and connect to the receptacle for a tight fit. It won't move and taking plugs out will keep it all in place. I have two of these and like the two usb-c.

Wish it had more juice and charged quicker but very happy with it.

I agree with you.

I have exactly the same design, under a different brand name. Same experience: it does not lay up against the face plate, or against the wall if the face plate off. Thus it is wobbly.
Mounting screw is small and short, sits deep inside the hole, difficult to drive the screw in. I am away for the holiday weekend. When home again I will try it at home. If the experience will be the same it gets returned.

Of course everybody talks about how these types of deals are rarely approved by some electrical standardized test. And given the price I'm pretty sure that this would be one of those that doesn't actually pass the test they might even claim to pass
You could, you know, actually check.

This crappy $8 one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BPNJVYS4?th=1
...is indeed ETL listed. https://ramuk.intertekconnect.com...enDocument

I would just use double-sided mounted tape, especially since I have Decora outlets anyway.
wow.. I never thought of that. thank you.

Awesome price for the extra outlets but the usb's won't provide much power

Do people usually leave the faceplate on or off when adding an extender...
This one doesn't look like it has a recessed back to sit over the wall plate so I would take the faceplate off so the extender sits more flush to the wall

It seems you are not well informed enough to make such speculation and accusation. It only cost $520 to obtain initial ETL certification (then a few hundred each year). If I was the manufacturer, I wouldn't risk such illegal move when I can sell hundreds of thousands of such small device.

I keep buying these outlet extender things and don't even have any more outlets in my house where I can put them.

I would have gotten this one, but i picked up this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...1&s=bazaar

For $4.99 at Amazon's Haul. I think you have to buy $25 worth of stuff or pay something in shipping Is there deal on that It was my first time with Amazon's haul. They did have stuff I wanted so it worked out for me. I like that it had six outlets. That's what I needed. They had a couple penny deals that were okay if you just wanted some junk for a penny. They let you get three things but I think there "decent" stuff was gone fast. But I did get a new belt for my lawn mower for a penny. With good reviews even.

JcBlaon Outlet Extender Surge Protector - 6 Outlet Splitter with 4 USB Ports (2 USB C), Multiple Plug Expander Wall Charger, 3 Sided Multi Plug Wall Adapter Power Strip for Home Office Kitchen Travel.

I think the other thing with Amazon Haul is shipping times are slower. Everyone reading this probably knows more about Amazon Haul than I do is my first time using it.
You could get five for $25 and free shipping but it would take up to a week.

This would work only with US voltage?
Probably Canadian voltage, too. Might even try it in Mexico and Japan.

What makes this extender a DEAL is the high Joule rating (assuming the rating is truthful). This provides good surge protection to electronic devices plugged into it (PCs, TVs, etc).
