Rtings.com review (7.5/10): https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...ravia-5-98

I was hesitating between this TV and the TCL 98QM8K which is better rated (8.3/10) however after having read many reviews I decided to go in-store and see for myself. The Bravia 5 was stunning and after getting a better deal via Sony.com (vs BestBuy), I decided to pull the trigger! Really happy with my choice, the image quality is incredible and the processing/upscaling is also better.

I'm torn between both TVs as well. I've found is an open box 98QM8K for $2200. Curious would you still consider that a better value in comparison to just going with the Sony Bravia 5 for $3600?

Just curious, how close do people have to sit next to your TV??
Do they get sunburn or retinal burn?

I wouldn't trust one person's opinion. Your open box is nearly $1400 cheaper which is the equivalent of a 65 inch lg oled

Rtings directly compares the two in its "The 3 Best 98-100 Inch TVs of 2025," and for what it's worth, they firmly believe the TCL QM8K is better: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...8-100-inch

$2,200? Great deal! I think I'd have chosen the 98QM8K at that price-point, and possibly re-assess in ~2 years (i.e. sell back the 98QM8K and upgrade)

Exactly :-) Now try for yourself and let me know! IMO Sony was eventually better but it depends a lot about your settings and how bright is your room.

As far as I am aware, it's basically the exact same TV.

I tried ordering (followed same steps received/applied 10% coupon) this item 4 times and each time it got canceled without any specific reason. When contacted customer care after spending lot of time I was told they'll create a case and get back within 2-3 days. Anyone else faced such issue and any resolution for such?
