What's the point when you only get 36/48gb ram? These should come with minimum 64

36gb of ram should be more than enough for most people.

I think that sr27's point is what's the point of a MAX instead of PRO because MAX is not for most people.

You got it. If am sinking 3k and getting a max processor, my use cases are not fitting in that ram.

Unless someone is frivolously buying these for browsing or small phot edits etc, these are not going to solve the problems.

I don't understand people defending products they don't need to.

The same deal is also available at COSTCO with the typical COSTCO benefits (e.g., longer warranty and 90 day returns)

So you think even 48g won't suffice with Pro Max processors? I am thinking about buying one.

With 48gb, the 40 GPUs will have 32gb to work with. Less than a gb per core. Since they are fast, the cpus may be behind if you throw something like an LLM or heavy graphic work. I think 64 is sweet spot for 40 core - 42gb allocating 1gb per core with room to reduce memory bubbles.

Of course if you are getting 30 gpu, 48gb should be fine to max out.

Yeah. I am on the look out. May pull a trigger on either Mac pro or studio if a good price pops up.

Would question if Android users MacBook critiques coming from experience. Outside of people who do 3d model or video/ photo edits you won't notice a meaningful performance difference. I own 3 different tiers of MacBooks products. My 5 year old 16gb MacBook Air just recently started taking performance issues. Son newer MacBook Air runs great.

It's pretty hard to distinguish performance between my mid tier Mac and my high end Mac. I would need to use my laptop as. server to notice differences.
