Let me preface by saying I'm a Lenovo X1 series fanboy. I've owned a dozen or so from Gen 3 all the way up to the current Gen13 Aura, to include some of the variants in the X1 line; yoga, eXtreme, etc.

I've also owned the Zenbook 14X OLED which was a near perfect device, and now have this exact model for about 3 weeks. Bought opened box "good" condition for $670 and ended up being in excellent condition with only 3 cycles on the battery. At this price, this thing is an AMAZING value despite some of its shortfalls; FHD res, 60hz panel, usb-c on right side, and it's trackpad...

The battery on this is "somewhat" (an hour more of screentime) better than the X1 however is arguably "faster" in tasks and loading times.

Using Adobe Illustrator as a subjective testing method, loading on my Gen 13 Aura fans immediately spin up. On the Zenbook they will stay off almost entirely, and stay silent unless I am doing heavy processing.

My biggest gripe with this unit is the damn trackpad. I truly think this is subjective and shouldn't stop anyone from purchasing.

We narrowed down between this and a Lenovo Yoga for my daughter in college. We really wanted to like it with the specs, but for our experience, between the fan noise and getting hot during moderate to heavy usage, she opted for the Lenovo.
FYI for anyone else concerned about fan speed, there's an Asus control that lets you control H/M/L.

Which Lenovo did she prefer to this?
IMO the closest comparable Lenovo is the Slim 7i in the configuration sold at Costco. It was on sale last month for $900 as well so that price may come back again.

Either of these at $900 is an amazing deal for loaded specs on the thinnest/lightest Intel laptop you can get.

How does this compare to the Costco Acer [costco.com]Aspire 14? The Acer comes with the Intel Core Ultra 9 288V while this Asus comes with the 285H which is obviously more powerful but also uses more battery. Both are 14" with 32gb ram.

For $1K+... I'd would've gotten a 32GB LPDDR5X option... RAM is quite expensive right now, and these lp/lpddr5x options are soldered... Not upgradeable.
*I know of an option with high end specs at about Half the price, 2yr wrrty.

Not sure how Acer quality is these days, so I'd go with Asus. Another option is the refurbished Lenovo Slim 7i, this deal is back up again:

The Costco Acer deal is pretty much about the same other than the OLED screen. The price is $200 less at $699 with Costco's extended warranty and return policy.
I do agree with questions about Acers quality but have not owned one myself. Just going off comments I have read.
It looks like it is now out of stock for my area so it must have been popular.

285H has better performance but 258V is more power efficient.

Not sure how you're settled with warranty - buying it directly from Lenovo is MUCH cheaper. Did that for my kid, and his Lenovo has survived 4 yrs of undergrad.

Only had one issue, and the next BD warranty took care of it.

Used to be a Dell house before they went private and stopped all coupons. Lenovo is/can be right-priced and has reasonably priced and more imp long term (up to 4 years) warranty.

Note I did end up picking up the Costco Acer i9 / 32gb/1tb for the $699 during BF. So far it seems like a solid and lightweight machine once you remove some of the software bloat.
