I just learned, to my dismay, that Quest uses erythritol in its products (including this one), and erythritol has been clinically proven to have increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (ie., heart attack and stroke). This warning is no longer a "may be bad" but rises to the level of "is bad" for you. Here's a link to the NIH for a study published in June of this year: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40459966/.

It's a shame because I like Quest products. They aren't worth a stroke though. If you're young, you're probably fine, but for those of us on the older side, it's not worth the risk in my estimation.

I'm at the age where people I know or have known are starting to drop suddenly for stuff like strokes or heart attacks instead of car accidents. Getting older sucks, but it beats the alternative. With the unregulated nature of the supplements industry, you have to be a little more vigilant and weigh risks/rewards.

Probably the best tasting product Quest makes. Wish it had 5g extra protein to match the bars. I think all the cookies have gotten smaller though. I can't prove it but I swear they used to be at least 20% larger.

Nutrition wise these are not great. I have had the Larry's cookies with similar nutritional value and I would take several protein bars over that cookie. Not sure if this one tastes more like an actual cookie but doubt it.
