This two pack is mainly a cheap way to get two Moto G Play phones, 1,500 minutes, texts, and data, with the real value coming from backup lines, 2FA, or using the phones on Wi Fi. The phones can be activated separately, service can be staggered for up to a year, and existing Tracfone numbers or balances can be transferred during activation. The main drawbacks are the small 1.5GB yearly data allotment, the 2024 model being 4G only, and the unlock wait tied to paid activation. Taxes and coupon reliability also vary, so the final out of pocket can be higher than the headline price.

I'm curious, any reason for the year-long delay? Not prying, just that it would be a lot easier to have your services combined in the beginning, and have the device unlocked earlier in the process.
Curious, if you're using a lower end smartphone like this for back up or to have a 2nd or 3rd line for two factor or for running ads where people call you what is the real trade off not having 5G? I used these phones primarily in the house on wifi, so the minutes issue is never a concern, nor is the data and I'm connected to a 5G router?
Even if you're having a kid or older relative use this to have service, just trying to understand what value is missing that a 5G would provide this doesn't? Not being sarcastic, truly curious why it's a deal breaker for so many?
many say no longer allowed since few months agoTax-sharing agreement
Background: This is a separate issue related to how some California cities have entered into tax-sharing agreements with online retailers like Best Buy.
How it works: In these arrangements, sales tax collected from a purchase is sent to a specific city's jurisdiction. That city then gives a significant portion of the tax revenue back to the retailer, and sometimes to the consultant who arranged the deal.
