It fits my 6in phone without having to take it out of its rugged phone case. I think the convenience of it being Bluetooth, not having to take my phone out of the case, it being comfortable to the hand, with a familiar buttons and thumb sticks layout, decent battery life is what makes it so convenient to use.
I don't only use it with my phone on the go, but the Oled and OG Switch 1 can also be used with this controller and I have used it several time with it.
Totally recommend it. Buying one more as a gift. Thanks.

I hate that with my lighting backbone $25 plus $25 ps plus credit and my usb 3 backbone $50 that I'm almost at a ps portal. But I understand this is more versatile

At least for me the Backbone requires me to take my phone out of the case, with the case it won't fit. Out of all the ones that I have I the Backbone it the one that makes me worry about the USB C port getting damaged from the phone. I still like it, specially since it has the 3.5mm audio jack and also lets me charge the phone while playing. With the Gamesir G8+ you have to rely on either a Bluetooth headphones or the phone's speakers. If your phone is running out of battery, you could still charge it and keep playing "un-docked" which might not be as convenient.
If I had to choose between the Backbone and the Gamesir G8+ now that I have used both, I would go with the Gamesir G8+. It beats it in convenience, the amount of effort to pick it up and start playing is like 5 seconds. With the Backbone there is a whole thought process of, I need to take my case off, make sure the USB C port gets connected without breaking the phone, etc. Also the benefit of the GameSir being able to work with the Switch is also another good plus. Last but not least, while I like the Backbone, for long sessions of gameply the GameSir G8+ feels more comfortable to the hand. The Backbone will get my hand fatigue after an hour or so.
Last point is portability. The GameSir G8+ is way bigger than the Backbone. In my case it hasn't been an issue so far as I just put it in my backpack. But for some other cases where I don't have a backpack or a safe place to keep the controller I tend to go with the Backbone or the Kimshi V2.
