I bought a phone + service combo from QVC and the included card says "If Service Plan and device are purchased at the same time, then you will not receive a service plan PIN. Instead, your PIN will automatically be redeemed when activating the phone."
So seems like they are forcing you to activate the phone on a new line or port-in, they won't give you the raw PIN to redeem on an existing line

But, once you do that the website lets you port a number/balance between phones without switching SIMs? <-- Correct. Best to wait a few hours like CyanWing suggested, to make sure TF systems updated properly. Otherwise they are liable to screw something up, and then you get to deal with TF CS.
You are not alone, in that many people's first instinct is to switch SIMs. Some have reported success, however TF sims are said to be married to their physical phones. There have been just as many reports of TF suspending services when they found the SIMs have been moved. It's your choice if you would like to try that route. CyanWing's method, while longer, is just proven to work.

I am suprised this isn't FP. This is a similar deal to the FP $50 Walmart deal on a 2024 Moto G, but the 2023 Power has a better spec with a 1080p screen instead of 720p. The recent similar QVC and HSN deals require new customer codes.
