Their system is completely screwed right now. Every time I try to do anything in the cart, including placing the order, it just redirects back to the main page.

EDIT: It was though Firefox. Tried it with Chrome and there were no issues.

Ok so this deal I've linked is twice the price but hear me out. If you're looking at this deal then chances are you don't have any tools and this is your first set.

Go ryobi, this isn't team lowes vs hd. The ryobi is a better deal, the tools are better quality, there's more than 300 tools in their 18v line and they have a 3 year warranty on their tools and batteries vs 2 years with black and decker. You also get 2 extra tools, one being my most used tool, the multi tool.

Also if you are gifting this to someone then you're setup for life, they run free promos all the time so every year get them a new tool and a battery. You'll never run out of options unless we all live to be 300.

Afaik this system is compatible with Porter Cable 20v stuff, if you're willing to shave off a little plastic tab on the battery, or tool maybe?

I purchased this same set 8 years ago. The batteries are still working, no swelling. Some of the things I did not use were the led light which is kinda useless.

However everything else in this kit worked great. Is it a high end set? No. But I've gotten likely $1000 use out of this $100 set in those years and am still using the sawzall, circle saw and especially the drill. We've changed houses twice in that time and I've used all three heavily.

Very impressed and now even with much nicer tools, I still go for these first because I want to see what it'll take to finally break them.

I second this. I had Black & Decker 20v tools. I still have my matrix set and love it, but it ends there. I switched to ryobi as their 18v line has a variety of tools.

I have B&D tools at work. Our main tool crib is DeWalt, so I squirreled away the last couple B&D. I use the hand drill a couple times a week for the last 10 years. It's not strong enough to break my wrist, like the new brushless DeWalt, but good enough for 90% of tasks. It's somehow still in great shape, batteries and all.

Yes, it's a simple battery mod you can do in a few minutes with a dremel tool. Basically, making the the same outside notch on the other side of the top. Not only that, but you can charge either modded battery in either charger, as the electronics inside (B&D, P-C) are the same.

You need to drink some of that M18 FUEL-aid!

I have the B&D 20V tools too, but this line is definitely not for a serious DIYer.
Particulary, the reciprocating saw is the worst product I have ever used.
The products I like the most in the line are BDCDE120C (autosense drill) and BDCI20C (impact driver), but they are not included in this tool kit.

I had very similar set as my first cordless set years ago. It lasted and served me well. For occasional use this is a good set and for many this all you need. If you think you might ever want or have to expand into more tools, then spend the extra money and get the Ryobi 6 tool deal at Home Depot.

I've used this kit extensively over the past ~10 years for home renovation projects. The batteries are finally starting to fail, but otherwise I have no complaints. Great value.
