TLDR; Remove PayPal as a payment option on Walmart if you have it saved before checking out and then select it during checkout so you will be prompted to log onto PayPal and then you can select the buy now pay later option to earn the 20% reward.

After talking to PayPal yesterday, I learned that once you save PayPal as a payment option on a website such as Walmart, whatever PayPal payment option you selected when you saved it becomes the default (even if your default payment method on your PayPal account is currently different). I paid for some tires yesterday on Walmart with PayPal with the intention of earning the 20% reward. But the checkout went right through without giving me any PayPal payment options to select and used my Chase CC on my PayPal account. I was expecting it to prompt me to log onto PayPal and select a payment method so that I could select the buy now pay later option to earn the 20% reward. I called PayPal to find out the story and the rep explained that since I already had what he called "an automatic payment" stored on Walmart account for PayPal, I wasn't going to be prompted to pick a different one. He offered to remove it for me from his side but I simply removed PayPal from my Walmart payment methods and canceled the order and then reordered the tires. When I selected PayPal (which was no longer saved as a payment method) on the second order, I was prompted to log into my PayPal account which then allowed me to select the buy now pay later option. Now I see the 20% reward pending from the purchase.

No doubt it's YMMV but I had bought this through Amazon a couple weeks ago. I hadn't opened it (Christmas present) and decided to return the Amazon one since they don't price match generally. When I went to the end of the return page it offered me a $99.XX partial refund if I decided to keep it. So yea, I did.

Not BS, it also worked for me. I just posted step by step instructions. Added screenshots

So much wrong with it? What do you mean? Seems like a very nice device to me and this is a good deal. What's not to like?
I said supposedly. A lot of people critique the small built-in storage, expensive SD Express expansion slot, low-ish battery life, LCD screen (vs OLED), same joy-con design as previous generation, game-key cards, and supposed bricking Nintendo would do.

Some of those complaints are valid, but overall it's a good package for the price. Just shows that people love to make a big fuss over things but in the end it won't matter.

True. People complain about a lot. We saw similar complaints when the last Xbox and PS released. But people still bought them. Just the way it goes. There is a tradeoff between affordability and features. If the Switch 2 had everything you're asking for it would be over $1,000. I think the end result is quite good

If you do it right just like how others in this thread have already done you get another 20% off (PayPal cashback) including tax so that will make this console approx. $385 or so depending on the local sales tax.

Yep, looks like game over. Price is back to MSRP now. Amazon and Best Buy still has it for $449.
Of course CB can make the deal sweeter but that same CB could have been used at $500 so it's moot.

Nintendo switch 2 marked $50 off at Walmart.

Available for shipping and in store pickup.

This method essentially allows you to get Mario Kart World for free.

It's $50 OFF. Not $50 for the entire bundle.

Exactly! Look at the Xbox Ally X. That would never sell like the Switch 2. And it's still not even that great of a product. I paid around $300 net for my launch-day Switch 2. I'm plenty happy with it. In fact my only real complaint is one most people don't have, which is that it's not very ergonomic which makes it harder to play handheld for long periods of time. Mechanism gaming pillow to the rescue lol..

Got this for $390 with the 30% $60 off Amex rewards offer on Amazon. Got a few games for $45-47 from Woot , which is apparently a decent price for Nintendo.

Would it make sense to load up on controllers and/or random stuff or gift cards if using the paypal pay in 4 for 20%?

I might have looked in the wrong place, but in check out I never saw the "Pay Pal pay later" option to be able to use the offer. It only processed it as PayPal
One online store didnt have that as an option either, but clicking on pay with PayPal opened up a window to your PayPal account(after logging in of course) and it's on the PayPal site that pay in 4 becomes an option.

BestBuy did have Pay in 4 listed on their site, but not all sites have it programmed that way

True, but the pop-up windows didn't present after logging in to Paypal. I was expecting it, but since it didn't happen, Paypal was just added as a payment option in which the purchase would have gone through traditionally.
