wow even cheaper than when i bought it. here's the review. love the material, especially that dark orange deal from slickdeals. it was a very special color. i liked the material's look too, it has that premium water proof jacket feel to it. however, i don't think the material will last. it's got some filmsy leather on the two sides. the shoulder straps are filmsy, attached to the backpack by two small straps. the backpack's material feels weak. there are tons of straps hanging down, it looks ridiculous. in the product photos they know it too and they hide all the straps, it's very neat in the photo. the "laptop" compartment has a permanent hole in it for a water bottle tube. it's like marketing decided it was a laptop bag afterwards and renamed it some laptop city bag. it's clearly a hiking bag or for backpacking. there are no organization slots for pens and small devices. there's just one small area for all small things. one huge area for the "laptop" that also happens to fit a water bag. Then a medium compartment. it's a huge bag. the back of it can never be as pretty as the product photos. i tried stuffing a blanket in it to fill it completely and see if i could achieve the same look, i couldn't. they did something to it, it's actually impossible to look that good.
having said all this, i still think it looked so good on me and the northface logo gives a rich feel but the usage was all wrong. i wanted to use it to be something i can fit under a plane seat. this bag is huge. so buy this if you really value the look or if you plan on using it as a carry on for backpacking and or hiking. it probably won't last but it feels luxurious.

The Borealis is known to be durable, with numerous users still using it daily for over 5 years. I bought it after comparing it in store to $100 dollar Osprey backpacks before buying. It's material was more substantial than the similar Ospreys, & one can compare their weight online to verify this. I was told it's Osprey competitor was the Nebula at the time - which costs 3x the price of this sale. After using it daily for > a year, it still looks great, with no signs of impending failure nor significant wear, & I have no regrets.
If it shows up in someones personal feed and they are not interested, I suspect they down vote it to get it out of their feed and not reflective of whether it is a good price or not.

I have the older version from 4+ years back, it was also a slick deal. It has netting for the side bottle holders. After almost daily use, the only things that have failed are one zipper pull and there are a few holes in the netting.
It's fantastic, I do want to get this newer one but don't really need it.
