Was checking out the listing on Walmart and ran into this review. I don't know anything about the inner workings of battery packs, but this is enough to deter me from a purchase.

i think getting less than the rated capacity after you step up to 5 volts is a given. all in all i can't account for this reviewer's huge feeling of disappointment.

Could you explain the step up to 5 volts, and in the end, the advertised capacity isn't 49800mAh, right?

it's better to express capacity in watt hours - the watt hours are the same at 3.7 volts as 5 volts. you can calculate the watt hours here - and you'd assume 3.7 volts.

advertised capacity is what's written on the battery packs - not what you'd get at some nominal voltage - that's how they all do it.

I think there was a typo. The watt hours are not the same. Watt hours takes the ah multiplied by the voltage.

This is why a 10ah 12v battery is so much powerful than a 10000mah 3.7v battery.

The cheaper one has 110v fold up plug for charging. i have one like that and it's very handy
Skeptical of the advertised capacity for the price and size but maybe it's for real.

This is not "how they all do it" lmao. Reputable brands such as Anker or even INIU have very accurate mAh AT 3.7V that can be clearly reproduced by 3rd party testers.

There is no way in hell this will ever give "49800 mAh" even at 3.7V like you're claiming. This device would have over 180Wh of capacity, by that logic. Anyone with common sense would see that this is very clearly impossible. Moreover, it would be illegal in >99% of the world the take on a airplane at that level of energy capactiy.

Do NOT buy this!
