Quote from your link : After using the the 1TB model for 24 hours and switching back to the base model, the differences in using the higher spec version feel marginal in day-to-day use, and are not substantial enough to me to warrant spending the extra 600, so the 1TB model was returned
You gotta be insane in the membrane to spend 900+ on a tablet lmao
Let's be real — the people buying these already blew $700+ on an iPad Air. At this point, the insanity isn't just baked in… it's the chef's signature dish!
Meanwhile, my first-gen 2016 iPad Pro is still running like a champ, while the two base 8th-gen iPads with cellular I bought in 2020 can't even install the latest iPadOS and crawl slower than a sloth on vacation. Pros are indeed built solid .
I just bought the base 11" M5 iPad pro for $899 from best buy. I chose the M5 base for the 12GB RAM. I have until end of January for price adjustment or return. This deal is just average, 8GB of RAM and the fact that this is a 1.5 year old model.

I mean if all you care about is ram then you made the right choice. The M5 has faster storage, charging, WIFI 7 and Bluetooth 6.

Out of all the things you mentioned, a "normal" user would probably realize the benefits of 12GB of RAM sooner than they would WiFi 7 or BT 6 by a long shot. Faster charging could be realized immediately but the benefit is not that substantial.

That is not my experience with the old iPad Pro. I am replacing a 2nd gen 13" pro with this slick deal. The old one is really showing its age- basic web browsing is slow and buggy. Still usable but heck it's 7 years old now. We got a ton of use out of it.
This 13 inch made a breakthrough in weight reduction to feel more like the original, but bigger.
That's what people don't like. They are all as light as a feather, but carrying something as big as a MacBook is a problem.
this isn't my opinion, I'm just saying what I have read from a lot of others who tried both. I don't think weight is an issue,
