No, I am completely there with you! Every time I am ready to order, another model pops up.

Because they're disposable. These are not 10-20 year appliances like an old Hoover or Oreck. They're junk. Shark doesn't sell replacement parts. You get what you get out of them and then they're done. I own one myself because it was very cheap. 2 years now, weekly use. Wouldn't buy it again. Not ergonomic enough, it's useless as a canister vacuum.

go on r/vacuum. they will recommend better models that cost a fraction of this

Totally agree. I just got a new vacuum (a Bissell which I'm happy with) and I was totally confused by all the models that Shark has, especially on Amazon. It makes it impossible to compare them all too. They're all cheap plastic and not meant to last. I borrowed a Shark from my neighbor and it just felt cheap and unstable to me. I got the one that had the features I needed (like the ability to turn off the brush roll for being able to vacuum area rugs without ruining them). Nothing compares to the ones of yore, my original Dyson finally gave out on me after having replaced the motor once before. I decided to finally retire it having had it for over 20 years.

r/vacuum is dead and its replacement is full of a bunch of nerds trying to justify their $3000 vacuum purchases. Ill stick with my sub $200 Shark vacuums, thanks

It's r/VacuumCleaners, and according to Reddit it has 253,000 weekly visitors. - and none of the recommended models are above $100. It is not a Kirby support group. They generally steal you towards inexpensive and easy to maintain commercial units.

Regardless of what you prefer (I also own a Shark, remember?) I am not wrong and telling y'all to be educated consumers. We're talking about a major household appliance. You should know what you're buying.

Get me talking about refrigerators, washers / dryers, and dishwashers and you'll like me even less.

Thank you for saying what needed to be said. I've been eyeing a new vac for a bit (first for my mom, and also for myself). Repeatedly tempted by Shark, but then just close the browser tabs in dismay seeing all the indistinguishable options with pretty good prices and mediocre reviews. If there's a "good" top level Shark vacuum out there that I should be willing to pay a bit more for, they've kind of undermined it by flooding the market with so much other stuff.

I was tempted to buy this for my mom due to the high reviews, but remembered going to Best Buy and feeling the quality of the Shark models--all pretty bad regardless of the price. Not sure why my Brita pitcher feels higher quality than an MSRP $400 vacuum. Years ago I bought an expensive Shark and the dust cup promptly cracked, but luckily I could easily return it.

I have the old version of this from Costco and I loved it. After market parts can be purchased off Amazon for it. If you want to go cheap bissell makes the best cheap vacuum.

They all talk about Sebo vacuums for $1000+ posting pictures like it is their GFs. My wife had a patient who had a date with his vacuum, needed a major surgery, so it may be a thing
