I've been looking for a laptop for my kid to do homeschool on. I'm sure this will get the job done but is there anything else I should consider?

This is a great deal! Like you said the AI sub will pay for the machine....

The Acer spin series is very popular in K12... if you want to look at other options. Acer probably has the best reputation in public schools.

Google AI subscription 2TB is $9.99 /month if you pay via your verizon account (mobile or fios). Just FYI. I don't need the laptop but i have the subscription. You can find it on slickdeals also.

Last year the Acer deal at Costco came with a 512GB SSD and was very briefly available for $150. This is still a good deal though.
