Yes, you can get a perpetual license, but 1. it's not discounted, and 2. it's only the 'standard' edition with significant limitations.
Vmware Fusion is FREE and it natively supports Windows 11. It has a virtual TPM module. Nuff Said!

I've been using VMware fusion since. It works fine and I'm use to VMware from work. It also lets the kids play Minecraft windows edition no issues.

Oh, and also the return on your 401k is also a result of exactly this kind of practice. You want endless profit for your retirement, you just don't want it to come from customers? Where else would it come from?
It's also a brand that is commonly promoted as Mac-specific; there's a significant portion of the population that enjoys hating Windows for reasons they can't quite elaborate and that kind of person eats this up. The price probably even draws a lot of those people in because that makes it feel premium to them (free is for poor people, eww).

What I don't get here is do you have access to it for a year, or you have a year of updates but can still use it after that?
