RAF Spitfires engage the enemy in the skies above the Channel, trying to protect the defenseless men below. Meanwhile, hundreds of small boats manned by both military and civilians are mounting a desperate rescue effort, risking their lives in a race against time to save even a fraction of their army.

FYI you don't need UHD/4k version to do that. The BR version has the same exact audio.

If you like the movie get it at this great price. I have a copy I would gladly give away free. This is one of only a couple discs that I will never watch again. It is a total miss by Nolan. He took an epic story and made it small. I bought this because......Nolan, he makes great movies, except for me this one is not one of them.
There is never a sense of the scale of battle. 3 planes at most in the air? A handful of boats, yet 338,000 soldiers were saved under horrifying conditions continuously bombarded by the German army and Luftwaffe. This one just did not work for me.
Historically, it shouldn't focus on the scale of battle because Dunkirk is and always will be known as the Miracle at Dunkirk. Why, because the Allies were for the most part defeated in Northern France and the escape of Dunkirk is the focal point of Dunkirk. The movie clearly focuses on the evacuation, with a very unique and great way to present and tell the story. Preceding battles were more important, like where the Maginot line did not cover, which required the Allies to fight in those areas. The battle of Dunkirk is really the evacuation of Dunkirk. Go watch some other war movie for scale of battles.
