It's worth noting this isn't the same as typical fiber internet - it's "fiber-powered". Namely, from their own details,
Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable
One drawback to this is upload and download speeds are not symmetric - the headline advertised speed is the download speed, but upload speeds are typically significantly lower. For example, looking at the Broadband Facts of the 1 Gig plan in my area, they specify typical download speed at 1170 mbps and typical upload speed at 117 mbps. In the past in different areas, I've seen advertised typical upload speeds as low as 20-40 mbps.

That may be perfectly fine for many people, in which case this is a good deal. But make sure to take a look at the upload speed for your area and confirm that it's fast enough for your needs.

Yes don't log in initially, then look up your address, then choose I'm moving here as a new subscriber. Then contie towards the end and on the screen where it has you sign up for an account, choose login instead. But make sure you cancel your old account, and return equipment. Otherwise you'll be billed for two accounts concurrent.

I'm a current customer and my plan has that bank autopay discount too. But I can still manually pay with a credit card every month, with no surcharge, and the discount remains.

What is this wifi equipment included? I have the latest docsis modem and a gigabit router. I don't really need any of their equipment. Also can I cancel my account at 430 pm eastern time and then have my parents sign up an hour later? With nobody coming to install it? My mom works from home and can't have no internet for days. Currently I have their 800 Meg plan for sixty bucks a month last 27 months. No contract. No phone included.
Use mobile hotspot between.

I hate Comcast but they are like the only wired cable besides fidium for my area! I tired Verizon WiFi Internet and it was bad. It felt worse during rainy season and I don't even have trees that could disrupt signal.

Deal is in my area (95757) as a new customer. I currently have the $30 promo for 300 mbs (and I get those speeds) but NOT unlimited. I just went over for the first time so I get the courtesy waiver. I don't see them extending my promo and the current offer for my similar plan is $40. For $10 more, it seems of value and if I can get the $50 gift card offer I saw someone postered, it helps.

Here's an easier list to parse, its from 2024, so not sure if they have updated it (seems to match from a brief glance), but its from the xfinity reps on reddit, you'll want a modem out of the top section, the codas are the cheapest. https://assets.xfinity.com/assets...evices.pdf
Use the link I posted above as it's their official list and is updated real time.

Personally I don't see a point in buying a modem anymore since they give them to you for free, and you can put it in bridge mode and turn of the public wifi.
Greater control of your network. Their gateways are worlds better than they were years ago, but I prefer having more control over my network.

Also your area may not actually be turned on for the better upload speeds even if they say it is. Xifinity said they upgraded my area and it showed online as upgraded (uploads showed 100mbps+ instead of all being capped at 35mbps) but it didn't actually get turned on for a year and half. Also you don't need the higher tier packages to take advantage, even their lowest tier gets an upload boost. I'm on 300mbps now, and I went from like 20mbps upload to 150ish when they finally turned it on.
Their upload speeds are currently maxed at 100mbps for mid-split and if you're in the area according to their system, you should have the speeds. It's either on or off, no grey area. Most people need a compatible modem and/or a restart of the modem to get the updated speeds.

Discount? Hell last time I did this I had to PAY to use my own equipment. Their all in one gateway sucked though, you couldn't put it into bridge mode and my cable comes in the basement in a corner away from everything.
There has never been a charge for bringing your own modem in the 15 years i've been in this industry.

No. You need to pay $25 more per month with cancellation mobile line
No. There would be a $25 additional fee on the mobile line if you kept it and cancelled internet. Not the other way around

This says it includes equipment. If I bring my own, do I get to pay $15 less? We have xfinity right now. the promo discounts are on the internet. None on the equipment part. $45 total in the end for 800mps.
No discount for bringing your own equipment.

I'm here for this as we have new construction and no lines ran to the house. A self-install kit won't do me much good.

I chatted with a rep that said I could complete the order with delayed shipment. Once complete the rep was unable to add the installation. They gave me the number 1-800-934-6489 and said ask for customer solutions. Called and the wait was more than I wanted so I selected the option to text. The person via text set up free installation for tomorrow. I only need to go the Xfinity store and pick up the modem. You could wait for the modem to be delivered and then schedule install.

I called the xfinity sales person. We have an existing xfinity internet + mobile account that is expiring this january. New account is possible under new LAST name. And none of the names is allowed to exist in the current account.

They said this can get tricky if we have phone plans that needs to move with a new account.

- No current xfinity phone number can use the free 1 year mobile plan (according to him).
- Cancelling the mobile plan has to happen separately (and its $25 for each? phone that is still with the old account). He said this is possible to do in store.

Anyone know if there's any inaccuracies to this?

you most likely can trade in to get a new phone. That can be assigned the free unlimited mobile. The phone number just has to be ported in to xfinity from a different provider.

No idea.. I'm wondering if I can have 2 separate mobile lines with each having their own 1 year free promos (mine activated half a year ago + a new one for my wife)..

Signed up in the last 30 days. To my surprise, I was eligible to switch to this plan. Xfinity being nice for once... is hell freezing over?!
