There is a PlayStation video game that is the unofficial sequel. As far as I know, it's the only video game that serves a sequel to a movie when no other sequel exists.

The prequel is decent, but it was bogged down by some bad cgi. The practical effects in the first one worked much better.

Pretty sure this was 999 just a day or two ago, it's funny that it's getting traction on Slickdeals now that it's more expensive lol

Holds up very well. Very well. I just watched it again maybe 6 months back and enjoyed it just as much. This and the original Alien are my go to horror movies.

Sadly, this is true. It was originally filmed with practical effects, as the filmmakers wanted to pay homage to the legendary fx in the original, so they went all-out in the prequel. Studio saw the practical effects, and had them overlayed with CGI in post-production. A decision that absolutely baffles me to this day.

If you're a big fan of this film, I'd also suggest checking out The Thing: Video Game. It was originally released for PS2, but has been remastered for current gen consoles. It's the closest we've ever gotten to a sequel.

However, in recent interviews, John Carpenter has stated that he's "in talks," about making an actual sequel to the film. We'll see how that goes.

One of the greatest horror movies made. As for the prequel, Mary Winstead made the movie watchable.

I hope the talks are speedy. Carpenter is 77.
