Got the same one with the 5070 Ti and it's terrific. These are great gaming laptops.

I have had multiple gaming laptops over the years dating back around 2010 or so I remember having a dope alienware with a 680m in it at some point ( think the thing weighed 9lbs lol ). TBH maybe I am just insanely lucky but I have never had one with major issues, other than after a few years the battery needs to be replaced. I generally replace them every 2-3 years I just bought a lenovo 5080 one that is replacing a lenovo 3070 model.

The reason being is that bang for the buck you can get a pretty awesome system ( generally I buy best -1 or 2 on the GPU ) and with it being portable it's awesome, There were definitely some WOW farming sessions in airport lounges on 4 hours delays over the years or playing skyrim in hotels along with numerous other games.

Three things I do now though

1.) Find the setting that shuts the laptop charging off at 80% or so.and other battery saving functions. Playing a gaming laptop away from power should be super rare, so why not have the battery have a longer lifespan.

2.) BUY A METAL COOOLING PAD .. You don't even need to plug it in or turn the fans on just being able to dissipate heat is a huge thing for gaming laptops and a large thin metal surface like that acts as a heatsink for the entire rig. Way better than on a wood surface etc... I generally keep the fans on the pad off some laptops exhaust heat by sucking in air from the bottom and some by blowing it out if you have the fans operating the wrong way it can actually have a negative impact. This allows the laptop to run cooler which in turn prolongs life.

3.) Keep dust out of the laptop, this means cleaning it once ever 6 months or so deep clean and occasionally between using compressed air. I just remember to do it when I change smoke alarm batteries and when we change the clocks forward/back I have an entire list of maintence on things around the house I do those days that takes about all day.

Yeah I guess. If I did that I'd pack an external thunderbolt GPU. Gaming laptops have short lifespans, not to mention all the other drawbacks.
If you don't travel at all, You may feel that way.. but people that have to travel frequently want a laptop. If they game, they want a beefy laptop. There is no guessing, it's logic. Who carts around a 30Lb+ desktop in the luggage? shake head Of course the fans are on cloud 9 while AAA gaming, but most people wear headphones to be immersed. You won't hear anything.

This seems like a nice deal for the very portable hardware, especially with that juicy 1600p OLED @ 16" do you agree? worship

No, Gaming laptops don't have 'short lifespans' either, i'm not sure where you guys pull this stuff..

*Also, I forgot to mention that you don't need an external GPU as this has the 5070 Ti in it... I think you mean oculink BTW.. not the inferior TB GPU BS

Laptop GPUs have are bigly undervolted and underclocked from factory so they don't cook / use massive amounts of power. A 5070ti laptop chip will perform far below its desktop equivalent. I had never heard of Occculink external GPU. Cool. Far better solution because its direct PCI-e.

Thats unnecessary
Just raise laptop, a few mm for better air flow.
Use air filter in your house. My house laptop for 5 to 10 yr never needed cleaning the fans. Just quick wipe.

Laptop with mux chip will have better battery life and health

Was $1234 earlier this week - bought it and waiting on shipping. Saved 20% with PP pay later. Can't wait!
Save 20% with PayPal was over 2 days ago. This is a great deal but I heard heating issue throttling the performance.

Mine came in this week. Very happy with it. Plays triple a games in 4k dlss quality or balanced at 70-90fps
How hot was it? I know it gets really loud and the keyboard are quite hot when gaming on it.

Good deal, but note that that GPU in this one maxes out at 115W (and from skimming reviews, 100W is more likely in practice)

Got this laptop yesterday.

On 3dmark, the GPU is much lower performance than the average even on full turbo. On balanced, it is really really lower. Max wattage was 118 watts for GPU. Cinebench was also much lower than CPU got at most 60w or so.

However, played a game and the screen is gorgeous and didn't feel the lack of performance. Wasn't a AAA game though. Laptop got pretty hot.

Turbo mode is loud and others in a different room can hear the fans going.

The 12gb of 5070 ti is probably bigger. A cheaper 5060 or 5070 can probably beat it on performance but only have 8gb.

Legion pro 7 with 5070 ti is $300-$400 on BF price. Not sure if worth the price.

This has gone in and out of stock. I'd have to sell off some stuff probably going back to only one laptop. That OLED, 32GB of RAM, everything looks too good to pass on. In for one for now,

Specs are great (except for the lower wattage 5070 TI) but check out the reviews, thermal throttling is too common. There's a reason they have so many refurbished units coming in stock. I would go with the MSI Vector which is only $50 more for a new unit.
