It was great when it worked, but it is the only Milwaukee tool I regret buying. The gas cylinder inside is not rechargeable. So once it goes out (and it will), only Milwaukee can replace it. Mine went out outside of warranty period and Milwaukee wanted $250 to fix it. I went back to a pneumatic framing nailer, which is also considerably lighter and easier to handle.

Tools break, especially with everyday use. Sure, pneumatic guns are lighter and probably more reliable but it's the price you pay for the convenience. Not having to roll out a compressor and a hose and being able to hot swap batteries when needed is what this gun is all about, not lightness or ease of use. 3-year warranty on this - my framers replace their pneumatic guns after couple years of use. And they all have one of these just to be able to quickly touch something up when everything is rolled up or when dragging hoses is a PIA. Time and a place for everything. I have a gas paslode that just keeps going but I'm seriously considering this, either when it drops under $200 or when the paslode finally breaks. YMMV.

I mean that is correct, except it has an internal non-replaceable gas cylinder that is charged at the factory. Pretty much all non-cartridge cordless nailers use the same system.

You make a good point, but unfortunately, mine went out with typical DIY usage. I've probably shot less than 3k nails through it while reframing windows and putting in new sheathing/siding at my house. My suggestion is to keep using Passlode until it dies. Those things are practically immortal.

Mine has been awesome. You can also switch it to the 21 degree nail mag with a little and I do mean little modification to the nail holder not the gun.

All these internal pressurized nail guns are planned obsolescence to put it frankly. I own a lot of Milwaukee tools but this is probably one I would not. I learned 20 years ago not to be silly enough to lock yourself into one brand rather I use them all. Every manufacturer seems to do it a little bit different and I know DeWalt uses a friction drive with no internal gas cylinder. That's probably the one you want if you want to pick it up in 6-10 years from now and have it work. The annoyance with the friction drive is it seems to be a little slower ramping up but still very usable. A Paslode nailer makes the gas cylinder replaceable which is probably something Milwaukee should have done. I would probably buy the Milwaukee if it was a hundred bucks cheaper than this. With the expectations of selling it in Facebook in 2 and 1/2 years while it's still working.

Does this gas cylinder thing exists only in this framing nailer model only? Does it exists in other Milwaukee cordless nailers? I have the Milwaukee Brad nailer and a 15 gauge and 18 gauge Finish nailer, all cordless.

Think he just got unlucky. I've had mine for about 4 years now. Professional use. I'm not a framer but I occasionally have to build walls or sister studs and mine is all l still going strong. Every battery nail gun deals with a limited life do to the gas charge so this isn't a tool for a framer to use non stop but in addition to a pneumatic for areas you don't want to drag a hose. Also great for people who do framing occasionally. Milwaukee makes the best battery nail gun aside from metabo. This is a great deal.

Amazing price for new, close to what I paid refurb.

EDIT: Correction, I got the 21 degree which isn't on sale. Make sure you know what nails (21 vs 30) are readily available in your region.

There's no gas cartridge in these but it does have an air tank. There's YouTube videos on how to refill them. It's pretty simple to do.

HomeDepot price match is such a joke. Was talking to someone while I had it in my Ace hardware cart and it sold out while they took 30 minutes. Like the person was dragging time out as long as possible. Took 10 minutes to reply to ask a unnecessary follow up question that I already provided in a previous message.
